ICMA's Commitment to Professional Development

ICMA's mission is to advance the profession of local government management through learning and skills enhancement.

The ICMA University offers you and your staff a range of opportunities to increase your professional knowledge and skills.

All of ICMA University's workshops and programs are based on the Leadership Practices, a set of competencies and skills developed by ICMA members, that are essential for every local government manager.

These professional development programs also help you meet annual professional development requirements as outlined in the guidelines for Tenet 8 of the ICMA Code of Ethics.
